Diane McKinzie RYT
Diane has been teaching Yoga since
1988, is registered with Yoga Alliance at the E-RYT
500 hr. level (the highest level currently offered),
and is a certified Pilates mat teacher. She began her
personal practice of Yoga in the early 1970's after
watching Lilias Folan, "America's First Lady of
Yoga", on public television. She found Hatha Yoga
to be the perfect compliment to her active life as a
runner and triathlete. In the mid 80's, after some dramatic
changes in her personal life, Diane began to study the
full Yogic philosophy in depth. She was trained under
the supervision of an Osteopathic physician and began
teaching in a medical center, giving her access to students
with varying degrees of health and mobility. It became
very apparent to Diane that Yoga was the means to powerful
physical and emotional change.
Over the past 20 years, Diane has
studied and taught various "styles" of Yoga,
(Bikhram, Iyengar, Ashtanga, PowerYoga, etc.), but found
that she always returned to the gentle, wise instruction
of Lilias' work. In 2006 she was blessed by a gift from
her students to travel to Montana to spend a week studying
with Lilias in person. She continues to teach in the
"Lilias" tradition by encouraging her students
to adapt movement to their own special needs, and to
find the joy and lightness of heart in this effort.
Now that Diane is in her 60's she
has turned her teaching towards the needs of the mature
woman. All of Diane's classes are For Women Only, as
the instruction is geared for the mature female body.
She teaches Gentle Hatha Yoga
classes and Yoga for Beginners and Intermediates, also
offering private instruction.

Diane's classes call 817-921-0789.
